Awards
Awards of the Society:

As per the desire of Founder President, Prof. M. N. Bora four "Founder President Awards" (two for outstanding oral and two for outstanding poster presentations) were initiated to be given to the Ph.D. Students (Research Scholars) to encourage their academic endeavorse from the funds donated by Prof. M.N. Bora to the Thermo-physical Society of India. Following Awards in the form of gold plated medal (1st prize) and silver medal (2nd prize) were given during 5th, 6th and 7th NCTP held at Vadodra, Varanasi and Kanpur. Later on it was decided in general body meeting during the conference at Kanpur to replace the medals by cash prize (the amount of which will be decided through the discussion with the members of the executive committee) from 8th NCTP onwards. A decision was also taken during the general body meeting at Kanpur that awards will be given only to the participants having life membership of the society.

Also a decision was taken to start one “Young Scientist Awards” to the participants having Ph.D. degree but below the age of 35 Years for their outstanding presentation during the conference as cash prize. The amount of this prize will again be decided through the discussion with the members of executive committee of the society.
  • Fifth National Conference on Thermo-physical Properties (5th NCTP)
  1. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to:    Ms. Madhu Shree Kole, Thermophysical Measurement Laboratory IIT, Kharagpur
  2. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to: Ms. Deepika, Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.  
  3. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to:    Ms. Sandhya Gupta, Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
  4. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to: Ms.Shree Mishra, Department of Physics, University of Bhavnagar, Bhavnagar (Gujrat).
  • Sixth National Conference on Thermo-physical Properties (6th NCTP)
  1. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to:    Ms. Madhu Shree Kole, Thermophysical Measurement Laboratory, IIT, Kharagpur.
  2. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to: Mr.Vimal Kumar Tiwari, School of Material Science and Technology, I.T., BHU,Varanasi.
  3. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to:    Ms. Sonalika Agarwal, Department of Physics, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. 
  4. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to: Mr.V.P.Singh, School of Material Science and Technology, I.T., BHU, Varanasi.
  • Seventh National Conference on Thermo-physical Properties (7th NCTP)
  1. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to:  Ms. P. Rajeshwari, Cryogenic Centre, IIT, Kharagpur.  
  2. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Oral presentation was awarded to: Mr. Manu Vashishtha, Department of Chemical Engineering, Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad, Gujarat.
  3. Gold plated medal (1st prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to:    Ms. Jagdish Kaur, Department of Physics, Panjab University, Panjab.
  4. Silver medal (2nd prize) to outstanding Poster presentation was awarded to: Mr. J.M. Kalita, Department of Physics, Cotton College, Guwahati
